Rudy Miick, BA, MA, FCSI is vice-president of FHG International Inc.’s Resort Division.

Rudy’s background is diverse and brings a wealth of operations, leader-ship and organizational expertise. He has worked as a full time consultant, and business owner since 1978. His work has focused on successful start-ups, and the performance improvement of over 300 restaurants, hotels, and resort properties nationwide. He has served as a leadership guide and coach for top executives for over 15 years. Mr. Miick is known for maximizing performance, profit, and team spirit within organizations during what is usually considered traumatic change.

Rudy has balanced his entrepreneurial career with both experience and academic support. He has worked in the hospitality industry since the age of 15 and was a partner in his first restaurant at the age of 24. Rudy holds an MA in Human Resources and Organizational Management as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate in Organization and Systems Development from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. He has served on the Board of Directors of Foodservice Consultants Society International and was also on the Board and faculty of the UCLA Extension Hospitality Management Program for 13 years. Rudy was selected to design and teach one of the first UCLA courses to be offered on the Internet in 1996.

Rudy is an award winning co-author of 4 books and numerous articles focused on management, leadership, and the process of change in organizations.

As a member of PSIA, with a Level 2, Alpine Certification, Rudy’s work with the Winter Park Guest Centered Service Model has assisted in it’s being accepted by PSIA-RM as the Teaching and Service model for the whole division.

He is considered one of the best platform speakers in the industry and is regularly featured by the National Restaurant Association, numerous state restaurant and hotel/resort associations, NAFEM, Foodservice Consultants Society International, and the National Ski Areas Association.
